What? A post from Ua? Clarification on my last post ... my new number, though the services are provided online by Skype, can be called from any phone. i have been spending much of my time recently at Camp Lutherhaven, Indiana, as i have been redesigning their website (lutherhaven.org) and redoing their songbook. i have continued to work on the story of Ydayin & Ahtyd ... eight chapter in now. i have also written a few new songs over the past months or so. Both of which were gifted to me by God. i have posted the lyrics and rough recording to Your Name (Be Love & Life). Unfortunately, the above song is one i just wrote and is not on this album, but Ed and i do hope to record some more soon. Enjoy! i do realize i have not yet posted rules to any card games. As i may have said earlier, i deleted the file in which i'd written all the rules, and have not yet felt inspired to work on them again.

Ah, exciting news! i also just found out that i am now on iTunes. So, if you liked the song above, go purchase the album Rhythm of a Prayer on iTunes. Unfortunately, the above song is one i just recently wrote and is not on this album ... but Ed and i do hope to record more stuff soon. i hope you are all well! The trees are waving at beautifully clouded blue skies today. Soak it in.

i realize that i have not passed on an update for quite some time. My apologies ... it'll probably still be quite a long time coming. i am changing my phone number and, for those of you who would like to call and talk about what i would otherwise be writing here, i list it below. My new number (via Skype) is as follows ...

Oh so much happening these past few days. Traveled with several others from the Fort Wayne area to see Hunter Smith (kicker for the Colts) and his band Conner's Vine as they opened for David Crowder. An amazing time of worship and word. Hunter shared good thoughts on wisdom. David Crowder played a Guitar Hero guitar that was rigged to actually be musical. Tonight, i joined Justin for dinner at B-Dubs and a Purdue basketball win. i have also set up a few gigs for the coming months and have hopes for finalizing more. Tonight (15 Nov), i'll be playing down in Indy. Check out the music events above for more info. It'll be great to be playing again ... where the music can connect with people. Have a wonderful weekend and watch for the first snows (should you be in an area where it is likely you may receive some).

Thirty-one years ... as i wrote a friend, i think 31 may have the power to both haunt and sober. Thanks to all who have sent greetings this day! i have had the opportunity to spend this weekend in Georgia with my sister, shel, and her husband, James. They lost the child they were expecting. Please, pray for peace. If you would like to send word their way, then visit their site, always. May my cousin, Cori, and husband, Ed, be blessed as they celebrate their first anniversary this day and embark on a second year of life together as husband and wife. May you also be blessed this day ... blessed wonderfully.

i have never been big on political discussion and, thus, have little to say about what is to take place tomorrow. i do have faith that the future will be good ... wherever it may take us ... and whomever might take us there. The character of this man, Barack Obama, is unlike any i have seen in a leader for quite some time. He has a story, a passion, a vision. And he has the rare quality of drawing many together. Let us come together. Shape the future.

Barack Obama, Berlin (July 24, 2008)
People of the world - the scale of our challenge is great. The road ahead will be long. But I come before you to say that we are heirs to a struggle for freedom. We are a people of improbable hope. With an eye toward the future, with resolve in our hearts, let us remember this history, and answer our destiny, and remake the world once again.

J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings
It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till. What weather they shall have is not ours to rule.

i welcome you (again) to my newly designed web home. You will find that i have posted the full first chapter of Ydayin & Ahtyd, audio files for more songs, and a gallery of all images included in my blog and others that i've uploaded. i hope to soon re-post blog entries that have been lost and post rules of play for the many card games my New Dawn team developed this past year. Unfortunately, i lost the document in which i had typed them. If anyone from camp happens to have a copy (hard copy or not), please, let me know. Otherwise, i will get to work on them again. Thanks much for your visit. If there is anything else you would like to see here, let me know - uamv@vandercar.net. i will also make a more concerted attempt at posting more regularly.

In the night
there shines
a light that
tells of the
glory of day

May you have a blessed day!

It was a joy-filled time messaging with my friend, Irene Venus, late last night. She and her family reside in Mindanao, Philippines. Please, think of her and those near her as “it’s been months now that the insurgents have been randomly attacking villages nearby…” And pray. They know - and may we know - that “God is on our side.” Also continue to pray for peace within the LCP. Reconciliation requires great surrender. Gikinahanglan ka namo, O Dios. Dungga kami. Hiusaha. Unify. i miss you, friends, and think of you often. Our brief time with one another was blessed. May we be encouraged by these words … “My beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” [I Cor. 15:58] May we each continue on in “a long, wonderful way.”
